Legend of Korra "The Sting" Recap
Last night's episode of the Legend of Korra, "The Sting" made for some very important twists in the Season 2 plot. Here's a recap for anyone who missed it:
The episode begins with one of Varrick's shipping boats being attacked with many timed detonating bombs. The attackers take control of the ship. Meanwhile, Desna and Eska are waiting for their father outside the Spirit World portal, where they inform him that Korra is dead.
Bolin is sitting in a balcony seat along with Varrick and Ginger during a screening of "The Adventures of Nuktuk: Hero of the South", a propaganda "mover" meant to convince the people of the evils of the Northern Water Tribe. The screening is a huge success. Bolin also tells Ginger about their on-screen chemistry, which Ginger denies, much to Bolin's dismay. Zhu Li walks up to Varrick and informs him about the attack on his cargo ships.
Asami walks in on Mako reminiscing over his great times with Korra. She is upset at the loss of her equipment during the ship raid. Meanwhile, Beifong interrogates the ship's captain, Mako learns that the bombs detonated were similar to the ones that exploded at the Cultural Center. When Mako walks in on the interrogation to question, Beifong tells him to leave after the captain doesn't recognize the remote.
Asami, fearing Future Industries will go bankrupt, is quite upset. Mako and her come up with a plan to use a ship with empty cargo crates as bait, and capture the attackers. Mako, refusing to ask Korra's help on the mission, saying she's "out of town" decides to ask the Triple Threat Triads for help in exchange for Korra to return Lightning Bolt Zolt's bending, and a supply of vehicles. They agree. Once on the ship, Mako confesses that he broke up with Korra, much to Asami's surprise. Later, they discover that the Triple Threats double crossed them and were hired to distract them.
They make an escape on a motorboat, with the Triple Threats hot on their trail. Eventually, they escape back to Republic City and head to the Future Industries warehouse to discover that all the Mecha Tanks have been stolen. Asami states that she is ruined and gives up. Mako promises to continue the investigation and find out who's responsible. Asami, touched, kisses Mako. She later apologizes for the random act, and Mako leaves to continue his investigation. He asks Two-Toed Ping who hired them to double cross him and Asami. Ping says he doesn't know, and he's never seen the man face to face.
Mako asks Bolin, who now only responds to Nuktuk, about the whereabouts of Varrick. Seeing that Bolin doesn't know, and that it's time to start filming his scene, Mako watches. He sees on the set how the bombs explode in a special order, detonating the same way as the ones on the ship and at the Cultural Center. Curious, he asks the technician working the bombs about them. It turns out Varrick invented them, so the bombings were all his doing.
Mako tries to report his findings to Asami, only to discover that Varrick had just bought a stock in Future Industries.
Meanwhile, Korra, still alive, but unconscious, wakes up on a sunny beach where she is suddenly surrounded by fire sages. Scared and confused, she airbends at them to get away, but they assure her they're on her side, addressing her as Avatar Korra. Confused, Korra asks who that is, confirming she has lost her memory. She then faints once again onto the sand.
What did you think about the episode, The Sting, and what are you hoping to see in next week's one-hour special, Beginnings?

Barbie in the Pink Shoes Review
Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay.
I just wanted to share a little critique with you guys of a film I watched recently: Barbie in the Pink Shoes.
The film stars Barbie as Kristyn Farraday, a ballet dancer who, along with her friend Haley, with the help of some pink ballet slippers, travel through different dances and actually become part of the story.
The film was spectacular. Although it would have been nice to see some cameos of some previous Barbie characters, for example Rothbart from Swan Lake, the film was wonderfully portrayed and the dancing was exquisite, and a beautiful example of ballet in today's time.

Top 5 Disney Princesses
When we imagine a Disney Princess, many of us picture a beautiful girl in a flowing dress with her prince charming. However, what defines a Disney Princess. Most people have a preconceived stereotype that Disney Princesses are dependent young girls who can't handle themselves. This is why I made a list of my personal favorite Top 5 Disney Princesses.
5. Merida
Like many in the list, Merida wasn't the first princess not to agree with the marriage plans set by her parents, but she went so far as to fight for her own hand in marriage. Merida also isn't on the best of terms with her own mother throughout much of the film, but she remains strong and learns her lessons.
4. Jasmine
Marriage was the LAST thing on Jasmine's mind throughout much of the movie, and even if it was, she refused to be inferior to any man. Princess Jasmine may not be the main character in her film, but she still manages to achieve what she wants due to her persistence. She is very head-strong and independent.
3. Pocahontas
We all know that marriage wasn't the first thing on Pocahontas' mind at the beginning of the movie. Throughout the whole film, Pocahontas remained head-strong and independent, even after she met John Smith. Although she was borderline desperately in love, we won't judge because she still managed to save John's life as well as change the mentality of two armies of people.
2. Mulan
We all know Mulan is the famed heroine of China, and one thing that's unique about her is she pretty much did it all on her own. From the beginning of the story, we learned that Mulan is an independent girl who didn't need a man to get by. Despite everyone going against her, Mulan still was able to save the day.
1. Tiana
TIana, in my opinion, is the most head-strong and independent of all of the Disney Princesses. She is the only princess with a real job, and actually doesn't believe in the idea of a fairy tale dream come true. Even after she meets Naveen, she still proves the leader of the group, not only because Naveen is a lazy prince who can't really do anything, but she shows in her knowledge and skill that through hard work, dreams come true.

Monsters University
Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait for a new post, but I have great news! I was able to see Monsters University today, and I am pleased to say it was SPECTACULAR!
Although many scenes in the movie wouldn't make sense unless you've seen the original Monsters Inc. the film is still a great stand-alone piece with a whole new story to tell, including hilarious and unique new characters.
The story takes place at Monsters University where an eager Mike is determined to become a top-notch scarer, but is constantly belittled, constantly told he is not scary enough to become a professional scarer. After Mike, as well as Sully, is kicked out of the scaring program, the two embark on a mission to win the Scare Games with their new fraternity, Oozma Kappa.
I won't spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it, but I highly recommend it to viewers of all ages!

Wendy and Alice!
Hey guys! Just another post for fun that I decided to do. We probably have seen the movies Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, but did you know that Wendy and Alice are voiced by the same person, Kathryn Beaumont, A very good voice actress indeed.
Just another thing I thought I'd share, Wendy and Alice look very alike.

Disney Fairies!
Lot's of us have seen the clips for the upcoming Tinkerbell movie Quest for the Queen, where it seems that all of our fairies have had their talents mysteriously switched!
There are so many Disney Fairies as of now, from all four of the movies: Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue, and Secret of the Wings. Which is your favorite Tinkerbell movie?

Under-Rated Disney Movies
There are so many Disney movies that we don't always take the time to appreciate them all! When we think about it, we may have SEEN every Disney movie, but we don't often care about them later. Sometimes this can be due to the fact that the movie got low critics ratings. Other times it can be the fact that the movie just didn't spark our interest.
But being real, every Disney movie was made with more effort than we can describe, and we must appreciate them! There are so many unappreciated Disney movies!

Disney Men...
Of course we've all heard of the Disney Princesses, but what about the Disney Princes? We all talk about Disney Ladies, but what about the Disney Men?
Disney Men are the most unappreciated of Disney characters, for whatever reason, and that must be fixed.
Disney men may not always be the protagonists of their films, but they still must be recognized!

Just a little thing I noticed...
Disney Kids!
Many of the Disney films feature kids rather than teenagers or adults, but not many of us actually notice them! Even if they are the main characters of their films!
Granted, many Disney Kids are mainly featured in sequels, but many are the stars of their original movies!
It may seem obvious, but not all of us appreciate the Disney Kids, despite how big a part in the movies they are!

Non-Disney Girls?
We all know Disney is popular and all, and so many animated movies are made by Disney, but what about the animated movies that AREN'T made by Disney?
Many of us know the distinct difference, but some of us don't quite have them down, yet. Not all animated movies are made by Disney, and those that aren't made by Disney are not called non-Disney. Just a little lesson in the animation world.
We'd actually be surprised how many movies are not made by Disney! Have a look at a few of them!

The Many Voices of Grey DeLisle
Having done that previous post about the voices of Jodi Benson, that got me thinking about another extremely common voice actress: Grey DeLisle.
We have probably heard her voice in one of various animated television shows, such as The Fairly OddParents, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, The Replacements, and MANY more! Take a look at SOME of her most famous roles!

The Voices of Jodi Benson
Many of us don't think about the voice actors in animated films, even when they occur more often. There are many famous voice actors and actresses, but one that particularly stands out to me, is Jodi Benson.
Known for her beautiful singing voice, Jodi Benson has played various parts in our favorite films, such as The Little Mermaid, Joseph: King of Dreams, Thumbelina, and even Toy Story 3!
In three of these films, Jodi Benson stands out with her wonderful singing voice!

Disney Red-Heads
I was thinking about the Little Mermaid the other day, and wondered what Ariel would look like if her hair was orange and not... red. Then THAT got me thinking how many red heads there are in Disney movies, both male and female. Take a look at a few examples.

Monsters University Coming Soon!
You've heard about it! You've waited for it! Now it's finally about to come! Monsters University!
Monsters University is set about 10 years before the original Monters Inc. where eager 17 year old Michael is attending college and majoring in scaring, but things don't go so well when 18 year old Sulley is in the same fraternity as him.
The focus of Mike meeting Sulley is the fact that the two are totally different, but they eventually become true friends, as we've seen in the original film.
Not to mention the extremely adorable Randall is in the film too!

Avatar The Search Part 2 Coming Soon!
If you guys have been caught up on Avatar's The Search, then I'm sure we're all really excited about the release of part 2!
Part 1 left us with a real cliff-hanger on the whole story behind Zuko's mom, so let's all get caught up.
We know Ursa used to be in love with a man named Ikem, who loved her very much. Soon after he proposed to her, she was near forced to wed Firelord Ozai, leaving Ikem sad and miserable.
In the present, however, we know that Zuko and the Gaang are all searching for Zuko's mom, joined by Azula after a discussion with her father while in the mental hospital. Azula had carried a note with her, and Zuko finally read it at the end. Check it out...

Disney Low on Artistic Variety?
So, the new film Frozen is coming out soon, and we've all seen the pictures of it's lovely heroine, the upcoming Princess Anna. But then we stop and wonder, hmm, she looks familiar...
You see what I see? Anna bears a striking resemblance to her preceding Disney Princess, Rapunzel. Some are saying this is a real disappointment because they were so looking forward to Anna. Others say Anna looks too goofy despite such a serious sounding movie title.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
This is a picture of Princess Anna provided by fellow blogger: Aladdin the Best

The Many Faces of Barbie
Throughout the years, Barbie movies have been there to make us happy. Even the little smile they bring to our faces lift our mood.
However, recently, something that hasn't been making devoted Barbie fans happy is the change in Barbie's appearance.
However, recently, something that hasn't been making devoted Barbie fans happy is the change in Barbie's appearance.
Barbie has certainly evolved since Clara in the Nutcracker. Barbie's voice has also changed too. As it's been said: Barbie's stories are turning into modern teen dramas, so they're using a voice that fits a modern teen drama."
We all used to love Kelly Sheridan's nice and loving voice for Barbie, but it wasn't meant to be.

Lin's Father in Season 2?
We all know that Lin Beifong's mother is the esteemed Toph, but haven't we all wondered about Lin's father?
Some have thought Lin's father, or Toph's husband, could be Haru, the Gaang met in an Earthbending town, claiming Lin looks like Haru's mother.
Others say it could be Teo, the boy in the wheelchair they met at the Northern Air Temple, as some said: "Teo could be her eyes, Toph could be his feet."
Others say it could be The Duke. Despite Toph being four years older, fans thought it adorable when The Duke lent Toph his helmet to throw up in, in Sozin's Comet, and they were seen cheering together at Firelord Zuko's coronation.
There is also a boy in an Avatar book: Love Potion # 8, named Ohev.
We don't know who Lin's father is yet, but we'll find out in Season 2 of Korra.

Legend of Korra Season 2 Shipping
Season 2 of the Legend of Korra is coming, and hopefully it will be here soon!
In the mean time, let's talk about something that's on all of our minds... shipping!!!
Makorra is already a given, so there's no use discussing that, but let's talk about possible upcoming shipping pairs, two of the most popular being Irosami and Boleska.
We currently have no reasons to believe these shippings will ever happen, but we like to keep our hopes up.
For those who don't know, Eska is Korra's Water Tribe cousin from the North. Her and her brother Desna are the twin prince and princess.
Other popular shippings include Tahsami, Bosami, Tahnorra, Honumi (Honora and Bumi) and even Jinoochy, with Jinora and Skoochy!!!!)
What are your favorite ships for Season 2?
